Tragic Escapade

Dora, our Beagle ran away last week. As usual, I let her running free on this field near our home. I was a bit day dreaming that day. And when I came back on earth, she had vanished. I waisted precious minutes walking to the little hidden beach where she often goes drinking. But she was not there. Then I went round the fields but could not see her. I looked for her more than one hour without success. So I went home and came back a few hours later and again in the evening. She did not come back around. The day after, we printed notices and I went to stick them everywhere around her rather huge walking territory. Saturday morning, a phone call. Someone spotted her running along the Neris. I rushed there and here she was. I thanked the guy who managed to catch her. He told me he saw her running with wild dogs at the open market the day before, which is quite far from our home. Dora got hit by a car or a trolley bus. She is alive, but wounded and under shock. We took her to the vet who said she will be recover and she should be fine. She got anesthetized and stitched.
Above, a pix of Dora recovering before going to be inspected by the vet.

So this tragic escapade has a good ending. Dora is back at home and slowly recovering, but this adventure changed her completely: She can walk properly and is scared by everything. I have lots of work, both physiological and psychological to do with her to bring back her confidence and to have her running again.
